The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Public Administration appointment with a research and teaching specialization in Public Budgeting and Public Finance, to begin in Fall, 2013. Posting Number is 0817738.
To be considered, candidates must have a granted Ph.D. in Public Administration or closely-related social science discipline, e.g. Political Science, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or Economics, at the time of appointment. Successful candidates will show evidence of accomplishments that lead toward success, or demonstrated success in cutting-edge research, peer-reviewed publication, external funding, and university teaching.
The ability to teach in other graduate level courses such as quantitative methods or organizational behavior and the potential for professional leadership. Ability to teach and conduct research in one of the following areas is expected; state and local government budgeting and finance, performance budgeting, the politics of budgeting, or tax and revenue administration; other areas of expertise such as health care finance are also welcome.
