Under the direction of the math department, teaches general mathematics courses. Position is a one year faculty position open to qualified applicants at the level of lecturer. Possesses an engaging and effective teaching style. This position is expected to teach an average of fifteen credit hours per semester.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a MS degree in Mathematics required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Ph.D. in mathematics or similar fields preferred.
Knowledge of general mathematics.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrates the skills to evaluate student performance.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and publish and/or present scholarly research.
Ability to use online learning tools and mechanisms.
Ability to develop, coordinate, manage and foster teamwork among diverse education and training programs.
Ability to function effectively on a variety of committees and assignments that serve the needs of the University.
Ability to interact personally with students and other faculty members in a congenial and productive manner.
