Under the direction of the Information Systems/Technology Department, teaches information technology and information systems subjects and develops innovative instructional materials as part of the learning methodology. Creates an environment conducive to optimal learning and provides opportunities for students to develop their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s or doctorate in information technology or information systems (MBA with concentration in computing acceptable) or a closely related field plus post-secondary teaching experience of Information Technology courses.
Knowledge of course content and subject matter pertinent to accreditation in Information Technology (i.e. systems administration, networking, computer architecture, database design and development, etc.).
Knowledge of and experience using on-line teaching technology such as Canvas.
Knowledge of and experience in using current program software (C#, Linux, Windows).
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Skilled in maintaining professional and ethical academic standards.
Ability to develop curriculums and teach design courses.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse student-body and faculty.
Ability to apply multimedia hardware/software in classroom teaching.
