Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Technology System Support the Financial Aid Technician manages all aspects of Datatel Financial Aid Module functionality. The technician will ensure automated and batch processes are created and executed to provide maximum productivity.
•Support all facets of the financial aid operation with automated process and reports
•Ensure automation is compliant with Federal, State and University regulations.
•Manage production cycle of ISIR Import, IRIR Correction Export, COD transmittals of award of awards/originations and disbursements, auto-packaging, disbursement, etc.
•Run automated process-daily, weekly, end of term/semester, and end of year.
•Run batch and ad HOC reports
•Troubleshoot database and system issues.
•Create reports to written specifications to support operational needs and reporting requirements and requests
•Become proficient in SQL.
•Manage ISIR and document intake process (imaging), file management and record retention.
•Ensure technology systems are adequately supported and monitored for consistent production quality and timely delivery of student aid, and reporting to required entities. Perform periodic quality control testing.
•Set-up, test (including/updates/patches), debug, maintain, and troubleshoot systems.
•Perform annual set of DATATEL financial aid module and related functions in communication module
•Develop technology solutions to support an effective and efficient processing operation.
•Develop technology solutions to improve online (self-assist), services to students and parents overall customer service.
•Support staff training to understand and navigate electronic data processes and reports.
•Participates in special events and in evening, weekend work as needed.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Require demonstrated ability with Datatel Colleague Financial Aid Module.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent writing composition skills
•Strong knowledge of aid regulations, technology savvy, and demonstrated critical thinking skills
•Ability to work collaboratively within a team, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
•Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
•Minimum of five(5) years work experience
•Experience with Datatel Colleague
Two(2) years minimum financial aid experience preferred.
