Implements, administers, and maintains complex, enterprise-level IT systems, network applications, and services related to the virtual environment. Applies system administration and security knowledge to the management and enhancement of virtualization and cloud technologies in support of core organizational functions. Installs, configures, operates, and maintains various virtualized environment platforms. Evaluates and recommends new enterprise software products. Ensures optimal performance and high availability of enterprise applications. Provides technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making to project planning.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field plus 3 years of experience related to the key roles and responsibilities OR any combination of education and experience totaling 7 years.
Advanced knowledge of server virtualization and private and public cloud computing, including common Hypervisor and Virtual Systems Management platforms.
Advanced knowledge of script languages such as Perl, Powershell, BASH, and other scripting tools;
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, application protocols, anti-virus software, and relational databases;
Working knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP directories;
Working knowledge of numerous operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.
Decision making, problem solving, exercising effective interpersonal communication, prioritization, organization, researching, and ingenuity.
Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documentation and procedures pertaining to systems and the virtual environment.
Ability to think logically, resolve problems, identify tasks, and develop strategic project plans.

Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Ability to complete multiple tasks and requests based on the organizational goals and objectives of the University.
