Detailed Job Description


The Systems, Technology and Planning (STP) group of Quinnipiac's Information Services department is largely responsible for the infrastructure associated with all physical and virtual computing labs at Quinnipiac University.
This position will be focused on all aspects of this layer of technology.


Operational support for the hardware, operating systems, and applications used across all computer labs.
Upgrading hardware, operating systems, and applications when required.
Provide Tier 3 support for ongoing client and end-user issues pertaining to computer labs.
Help design the infrastructure used in new computer labs (physical and virtual).
Help support a number of lab and Audiovisual applications and systems.
Help support a number of server and system infrastructure elements.

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants:

Bachelor's degree is required, preferably from a Computer Science or similar degree program.

REQUIRED: Specific Knowledge / Skills
Windows Operating Systems
Macintosh Operating Systems
Centralized computer imaging system (Ghost, Deploy Studio, System Center, etc.)
Centralized workstation and software management system (SMS or System Center, GPO, Centrify, etc.)

DESIRED: Specific Knowledge / Skills
Any experience level with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or VDI (XenDesktop, VMWare View, or Hyper-V)
Experience using advanced applications common in academic environments
