Detailed Job Description
This position will work with other IS professionals to create platforms that will function in a complex environment integrating with technologies such as clustered servers, network security/firewall systems, DHCP, monitoring systems, storage area networks, directory services, authentication systems, and other centralized infrastructure services. The successful candidate will be part of the Information Services engineering team to support the Cyber Security program. The position involves applying security engineering and problem solving skills to develop solutions to secure the college's network related to the Cyber Security program course requirements. This position will provide end-to-end security architecture (holistic, enterprise-wide view) for Cyber Security related projects under the guidance of the Network Manager and the college's Network Security Engineer.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Security/Systems Engineering or a related field required.
A minimum of five years experience in Information Technology security with a focus on:
Performing analysis, developing specifications, designing, constructing, testing and implementing secure solution designs (i.e. red team analysis, penetration and vulnerability testing).
Knowledge of security standards and testing tools and methods (i.e. NIST800-53, PKI).
Working knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, static routing, switches, VPN, SNMP, UNIX/LINUX and Windows operating systems, electronic messaging and directory services, Public Key Infrastructure etc.).
Experience implementing Microsoft security concepts in an Active Directory infrastructure.
Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills, technical ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness to ensure the security will continue to be viable.
Strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to business requirements.
Ability to prioritize, make quick decisions, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately.
Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
CISSP or other security certification preferred.

This is a grant funded, contractual with benefits position. The benefits package includes employee only health insurance (medical, dental & vision), retirement, opportunity to participate in college 403(b) and 457(b) plans, college leave/paid holidays, personal leave and employee only tuition waiver.
Funding this position shall expire on September 30, 2014. Continuation beyond the contract period is contingent upon need and funding.
