Detailed Job Description

Manages the programming for residents and serves as a liaison to campus and community partners associated with living/learning programs. Communicates apartment and university procedures/policies to students in residence. Maintains and communicates calendar of events for students. Plans and conducts monthly housing meetings. Meets with each student monthly to discuss progress with the LEAD program, academic goals, personal progress, and housing issues. This position works in the CAL office 8-12 hours/week and also resides at the student housing complex located at Ventana Housing in Orem.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation with a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of college education.

Preferred Qualifications

High Distinction certification or Engaged Learning University Distinction in Leadership through the Center for the Advancement of Leadership, or knowledge of the LEAD program.

Knowledge

Knowledge of student health risks and campus health services.

Skills

Basic mediation and coaching skills.

Excellent communication skills including excellent listening skills.

Abilities

Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students.

Ability to maintain composure in stressful circumstances.

Pay Range

$10.00 per hour

Special Instructions to Applicants

This position requires living at the student housing complex in Orem close to campus.

Hours are flexible with a minimum of 8 hours per week and a maximum of 12 hours per week on campus.
