The Director of the Office of International Education oversees a comprehensive, centralized international education operation that manages study abroad programs, provides services to international students and scholars annually, hosts international visitor programs, and supports curricular development initiatives in support of the institution’s Strategic Vision 2015 of which Global Preparedness is a major component. The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Global Initiatives. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Assist with strategic planning for campus internationalization
Effectively manage staff of Office of International Education
Planning and overall management of budgets
International program creation, development, evaluation, assessment and improvement
Create, coordinate and maintain agreements with international programs and partners.
Plan and conduct programming to market study-abroad opportunities to internal and external student populations and partners.
International education policy development and implementation
Assist with campus efforts to recruit, integrate and retain international students.
Assistance with grant development and management
Provide procedural support to faculty planning to teach or sponsor student trips abroad.
Collaborate to offer activities and programs related to international education.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Global Initiatives.
Master’s degree with five years of progressively responsible experience working with international education programs in higher education required.
Demonstrated experience and success in international program creation and development and implementation required.
Experience creating effective campus study abroad orientations, and reentry programs.
Experience living or studying abroad and proficiency in a second language required.
Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents (students, parents, faculty, alumni, on-campus staff and overseas staff and institutions) required.
Domestic and international personnel supervision and evaluation experience required.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal background check required.
