Tutors students, individually and in groups, by appointment and drop in, for assigned courses.
Participates in required tutor training and certification.
Tutoring may take place on the main campus or at selected satellite locations.
High School Diploma or GED required
Preference given to candidates who have a B or better in additional engineering coursework.
Grade of B or better in ENGR 2010 (equivalent to Engineering Statics).
Grade of B or better in ENGR 2030
(equivalent to Engineering Dynamics).
Grade of B or better in ENGR 2140
(equivalent to Mechanics of Materials).
Applicants must be able to assist students in Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and Dynamics and/or be knowledgeable in MATLAB and Materials Science.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Skilled in interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Skilled in time and task management.
Ability to collaborate with students to enhance their knowledge of science.
Ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and friendly manner.
Ability to read, write, and be understood in English.
