The file room specialist will create electronic/paper files for all part-time and full-time employees hired by the Institution; report all new hires to the Utah New Hire Registry; scan and review documents and information, handle requests for records and employment information; perform data entry; prepare and sends employment files to Utah State Archives in accordance with the Utah State General Records Retention Schedules; serve as a final check that information is input into HRIS system correctly and all needed documents are present; and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required and 1 year related experience.
Knowledge in office methods and techniques e.g. filing systems, etc.
Skilled in computers and computer applications, including detailed data entry, document imaging, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Ability to perform a variety of clerical duties with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
Ability to pay attention to detail and recognize potential issues.
Ability to bend down and stand up repeatedly with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner.
Ability to explain and/or train employees on computer application and non-computer related processes.
