Under the direction of the Director of Multicultural Student Services, the Program Manager supports services, retention efforts and community resources for UVU’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) student population. Collaborates closely with other campus entities to provide a safe and supportive environment conducive to student success.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.
Demonstrates significant understanding of LGBT dynamics within higher education contexts.
Demonstrates knowledge of diversity issues within higher education contexts.
Demonstrates knowledge of student development and advising.
Demonstrates knowledge of retention strategies for LGBT populations.
Knowledge of fundraising methods.
Must possess strong communication skills in both written and verabal formats.
Must possess strong skills in facilitating dialogues about diversity, inclusion and LGBT issues.
Must possess skill in preparing and managing budgets and with fiscal management
Must demonstrate interpersonal, technical, analytical, marketing and resource development skills necessary for program effectiveness.
Must demonstrate the ability to foster and build collaborative work environments.
Must demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds with diverse perspectives.
Must demonstrate ability to keep information confidential and use good judgement about when and how such information can be shared, while being mindful of maintaining professional standards which are consistent with university policy.
Ability to foster collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders
