Job Responsibilities

Strong commitment to student-centered learning and student’s needs

Record of success in finances, budgeting, resource generation and planning

Passion for career and technical education, liberal arts, transfer programs and workforce training

Understanding of the role remedial education has in the college environment

Ability to work collaboratively and successfully with unions representing the College’s employee groups

Excellent business acumen and positive experience in advocating for the College to governmental, professional and civic organizations

Successful experience in Board relations; strategic planning and institutional assessment

Ability to practice open communication and embrace the culture of the region

Appreciation for and supporter of a diverse environment

Significant level of academic leadership experience in the technical and community college arena

Full understanding of and/or experience in a higher education institution

Works with the entire campus community to develop campus-based student success initiatives

Identifies and takes action on strategic opportunities or issues that help or hinder progress

Identifies with and seeks support from those who have influence on the campus

Represents the campus community with a strong voice to internal and external audiences

Anticipates and effectively plans for change through strong collaboration and active communication
Works with various campus stakeholders to find mutually agreeable resolutions for key campus issues

Provides a forum for the discussion of ideas and suggestions, and incorporates them into a variety of possible solutions for key campus issues

Promotes a cooperative work environment

Develops and maintains a high-functioning network of internal and external relationships

Required Qualifications

An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution

Teaching experience in higher education

Executive-level leadership and administrative experience

Experience in accreditation and/or compliance standards

Experience in developing and managing budgets

Student-centered vision with a commitment to enhancing student success

Understanding of a large urban educational environment

Proven record of fundraising and/or grant writing and grant administration

Understanding of the complexity of working in a multi-site environment and an ability to work collaboratively across the organization

Ability to develop and implement a vision for the campus that takes advantage of its strengths and provides it with a strong programmatic identity within the context of the Cuyahoga Community College brand

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Evenings and weekends based on College needs.
