Coordinates assigned aspects of Student Affairs consistent with the College’s Student Affairs mission statement and student success initiatives.
The Assistant Dean will support the Dean in coordinating and overseeing the major functions within Student Affairs including those in the enrollment center, counseling office, career services, student life and athletics as well as other student support services.
Coordinates various services and initiatives that promote student success and smooth transition though the College’s enrollment, matriculation, graduation, career and transfer processes.
Facilitates and maintains partnerships internally and externally to improve and integrate services for students on behalf of Student Affairs.
Cultivates student relationship-building efforts to aid in first-year experience programs, student mentoring efforts, the student ambassador program, and faculty-student engagement initiatives, as well as other efforts.
Assists with campus and college-wide enrollment initiatives and strategic planning efforts as assigned.
Serves as a member of campus and college leadership teams as requested.
Works with counterparts to assist in developing student related policies and procedures.
Serves as site co-coordinator for student issues, complaints, and judicial process.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of 3 years of higher education administration experience in student affairs or related areas
Demonstrated knowledge of integrated student information systems
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a team leader and participant.
Commitment to student success and to the mission of community colleges
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, higher education Administration or related field
Proficiency with Banner Information System
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
Monday – Friday and may require evening and weekend hours as needed
