Practical Nursing Program Director and Faculty  

Remington College –Shreveport Campus invites qualified individuals with medical surgical expertise to apply for the positions of Program Director and full-time faculty in our Practical Nursing program. Remington College is an established private, non-profit academic institution with a local campus at 2106 Bert Loons Industrial Loop, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Remington College has a proven track record in providing excellence in nursing education at our campus in Orlando, Florida since 2009.  Graduates of our program are well-respected and in high demand by area healthcare employers.  We intend to bring our experience with nursing education to the Shreveport Campus with a new practical nursing program.  The successful candidates will assist in the development and implementation of this program, which includes an innovative curriculum with a geriatric focus. The campus will feature a clinical simulation and skills laboratory as well as modern classrooms to enhance student learning.   

The optimal candidate possesses an excitement for teaching in a collegial and supportive setting. Students rotate to wonderful sites within the Shreveport community, engaging students in a wide variety of clinical experiences. 

Successful candidates will possess:

  • An unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nurse license, or eligibility for;
  • A bachelor of science in nursing is required, a master's degree in nursing is preferred;
  • At least one year of teaching experience is preferred;
  • At minimum of three (3) years of medical-surgical nursing or nursing education, with at least one of the years spent in medical-surgical nursing providing direct patient care;
  • Experience as an RN for a minimum of 6 months full-time within the last three years and
  • Proficiency with distance education is preferred.
