Assists the professor in running the large section of Ethics and Values, a class with 100+ students. Works with smaller groups of students for two hours each week, facilitating discussions and helping students understand the course material. Grades materials and leads discussions.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a field of study directly related to the course subject or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Taken or audited PHIL 2050/205H/205G.
Knowledge of philosophy and writing sufficient to evaluate and grade philosophy papers at the lower division level.
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Ability to lead discussions on abstract and/or sensitive topics.
Ability to explain principles of good writing.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
