Supports the production of specific web and online projects, while adhering to standards promoting institutional brand and image. In addition to a strong attention to detail, the successful candidate will be adept at juggling multiple assignments and producing quality work under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also have an eagerness to learn all aspects of web production, while utilizing and maintaining best practices and industry standards, and constantly keeping the best interest of the University and HDRBS top of mind. This position will report to the Manager of Computer Systems & Marketing.
Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of web communications for HDRBS.
Writing and editing web pages for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Learning to develop information architecture.
Build, organize, and update pages within the CMS.
Test and ensure cross-browser and cross-platform quality.
Ensure page content meets minimum accessibility guidelines.
Take direction for graphic design and develop design elements.
Provide ongoing support for HDRBS with general web development and maintenance needs.
Assisting clients with content analysis and providing guidance in site organization
Optimizing images for web use.
Assist with CMS-client training in the areas of Web design and branding.
Maintain scheduling for student staff.
Meet with Manager of Comp. Sys. & Marketing at least three times a week to discuss new, current and future projects.
Uphold design and quality standards with all projects.
Maintain student work areas.
Other duties as assigned
Experience working in a collegiate and/or marketing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in content organization, with the ability to think abstractly and conceptually
Working knowledge of HTML
Organization skills that include a strong attention to detail and an ability to multitask
Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Studies, Computer Technology, Technical Communication, Web Design, Web Development, or related field.
One to three years of experience in the maintenance of websites within higher education
Experience working with and providing guidance to graphic artists, editors, IT specialists, or related positions.
Experience developing information architecture.
Working knowledge of HTML visual and text editors, CSS, and related basic web technologies.
Knowledge of Section 508 Accessibility Standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using web content management systems, such as: Cascade Server, Drupal, and WordPress.
Strong writing background.
Proficiency in both Windows and Macintosh environments.
Knowledge of or experience with Google Analytics.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with a broad range of campus constituencies and work as part of a cross-functional team.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in creating new web content and pages
