Detailed Job Description

Provides a variety of student services, focused on recruiting and retaining BSW and MSW students.

Additional Department Summary:

Develops and conducts information sessions, both on and off campus; responds to telephone and electronic requests for information; plans and delivers presentations to potential students (within and outside of the state); advises individual students and student organizations; and plans and organizes student-focused events. Serves as a point of contact for university department chairs and high school guidance counselors in Alabama and neighboring states. May teach undergraduate or graduate classes (typical maximum of 3-credit hours per semester).

Required Minimum Qualifications

An MSW degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and a minimum of two years of post-MSW experience in social services.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent communications skills, including public speaking and writing. Ability to work effectively with the School's administrators, staff, students, and faculty. Ability to use standard software such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in counseling or advising Education or experience in administrationExpertise in using electronic software to plan and schedule events and activities; to organize and interpret information, and to provide instruction.LGSW. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
