Job Responsibilities


• Maintains program databases for all SSS programs
• Assists the Director of Student Support Service with applicable data collection used for US Department of Education reporting
• Collects data from advisors and tutors for student records entries
• Generates periodic reports of student status using Banner and Blumen systems
• Provides technical support and assistance to staff, faculty and students for all SSS programs
• Administers student technology and computer literacy tutoring as needed
• Maintains program hardware and software
• Conducts setups for new equipment
• Provides technical training to SSS staff
• Assists with the production of Advising and Tutoring media
• Maintains program social media networks (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and internet page)
• Serves as point of contact for program data inquiries
• Collaborates with college’s Inquiry and Effectiveness department to ensure proper management of student data
• Independently maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal reporting requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


• Associate’s Degree and a minimum of five to eight years of experience in a technical support role
• Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
• Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

• Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to be creative and exercise initiative
• Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills
• Works accurately with great attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes
• Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
• Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of technical support theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
• Demonstrated intermediate Project Management skills
• Demonstrated basic proficiency with Blackboard (or equivalent program)
• Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Banner (or equivalent program)
• Basic-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
• Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
• Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
• Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Preferred Qualifications

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business 8:30am – 5pm, Monday through Friday.
