PART-TIME JOB DEVELOPER/EMPLOYER LIAISON (GPSTEM): (GPSTEM Grant Funded Position) 18 hours/week during the academic year; evening and weekend hours included. Reports to Program Manager of Guided Pathways to Success in STEM (GPSTEM). GPSTEM is a three year grant, ending September 2017. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position)

The Job Developer/Employer Liaison is responsible for facilitating job placement for NECC College to Career graduates through employer outreach, job development, student preparation for job search activities and follow up as student job search is in progress. Additionally this position is responsible for employer engagement to identify employment and industry trends as well as input and evaluation of college coursework for specified industries.

  • Act as liaison with area employers in order to increase job placement of NECC College to Career graduates
  • Recruit and promote employer participation in opportunities to attain input and evaluation of designated GPSTEM programs and courses
  • Research, recruit, and promote employer participation in identifying emerging industry trends
  • Work with employers to help students attain workplace information through internships, employer forums or worksite tours
  • Work in concert with College to Career Navigator and Achievement Coaches in preparing students for workplace success and job search
  • Plan and implement workshops or coaching sessions which prepare students for workplace success and job search activities including but not limited to resume preparation, practice interview sessions, and networking for job search success
  • Plan and implement activities which improve a student's awareness of career specific expectations and workplace skills
  • Design and implement a plan to support students throughout their job search activities including but not limited to accessing VWCC services; following up on students employment status as job search progresses and placement occurs


Salary: $26.40 per hour, no benefits
