Detailed Job Description
This individual will be responsible for installing and maintaining network devices such as: switches and wireless access points. This person will provide triage of help desk tickets and assist senior personnel with problem resolution.
Additional Description of Duties:
Basic configuration, installation and maintenance of campus switches, routers and wireless access points. Make adjustments, additions or deletions to switch configurations as necessary. Maintain wireless network equipment in an enterprise network that consists of over 2000 access points.
Troubleshooting network related help desk tickets as they arise. This position must work to resolve network problems by working either independently or with Senior Network Analyst in providing a solution to the problem. This role necessitates a fundamental understanding of the Bentley networking environment and ability to understand how a client interacts with various network devices in connecting to networked applications.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline "or" 2 - 3 years of experience supporting an Enterprise Local Area Network. Must have a fundamental understanding of Gigabit Ethernet switching technologies, basic routing and current 802.11 wireless technologies. Basic knowledge of the use of network diagnostic equipment such as Wireshark, Fluke meters, and other testing hardware and software is required. A basic understanding of Windows operating systems is needed in troubleshooting client/server problems.
License(s) Required for the Position
Certification in Cisco, Juniper or Aruba is a plus. Experience with Juniper, Extreme and/or Aruba hardware is preferred.
