Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Equipment Manager will be responsible for laundering clothes for over 600 student athletes (covering 25 varsity and non-varsity teams), as well as assisting with maintaining inventory for all varsity and junior varsity teams and serving as the primary equipment manager for various athletic programs.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma required

  • College degree preferred

  • Ability to deal with diverse group of young adults

  • Well organized, good record keeper

  • Interact with vendors for orders/deliveries

  • Communicate effectively with staff and coaches in stressful situations

  • Technological aptitude (scoreboards, PA systems)

  • Essential Functions

  • Repairing and fixing equipment and apparel

  • Fixing minor maintenance needs

  • Supervising a staff of student workers

  • Providing game management for various athletic contests

  • Granting locker room access to visitors

  • Escorting officials to and from the field of play

  • Identifying and reporting facility maintenance needs

  • Operating and conducting minor maintenance of scoreboard and PA systems for events

  • Assisting with set up and break down for games and events

  • Cleaning facilities when cleaning staff is not present

  • Reporting security concerns to appropriate college staff
