Under the direction of the Supervisor – Electrical Operations, the Electrician will maintain, repair and install all electrical systems, insuring good operation of all power and lighting systems. The position will be filled by either a level II or III Electrician depending on qualifications.
High school diploma plus four years of directly related experience to the summary of duties or any combination of education and/or experience is required. Requires a general knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used within the electrician’s trade. Journeyman’s license is required.
Electrician II will require a Journeyman license.
Electrician III will require a Master license.
Knowledge of electrical, construction or maintenance type of work.
Knowledge of local, state and national codes including fire, safety and electrical codes.
Knowledge of skills related to those of an electrician.
Skilled in electrical maintenance work.
Skilled in calculating power, lighting loads for transformers and conductors.
Skilled in troubleshooting safety and accurately using meters, diagrams and common sense.
Ability to maintain a good relationship with general public, faculty and staff.
Ability to function with dexterity and safety.
Ability to read, write and follow directions.
Ability to works with voltage up to 12,047.
