Job ID:  1419.  Unclassified - FT

  • Advance the mission of Miami University by assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development Office and the Red & White Club with the goal to increase revenues and membership, enhance the game day experience, and create education and awareness to help build the Miami Athletics brand
  • The position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations


  • Manage day to day operations of the Athletic Development Office, including: assists current and prospective donors who visit the office; answers incoming calls and emails for the Athletic Development Office; handles incoming and outgoing mail for unit
  • Record, monitor, and process information in Banner and athletic development/ticketing system; maintain updated contact information and process requests for a variety of reports
  • Assist with stewardship of donors by working with the Office of Stewardship and Donor Relations
  • Coordinate and oversee student/intern/volunteer staff, including but not limited to hiring, scheduling, delegating and following-up on work assignments as appropriate
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors
  • Oversee external communication efforts for the Athletic Development Office and the Red & White Club (i.e. e-Newsletter, Website, Social Media, etc.)
  • Assist the Athletic Ticket Office and Ticket Sales with the coordination of donor based seating and parking
  • Coordinate and direct special projects, including loyalty point calculations, research, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Communications, and Annual Giving staffs with the coordination of marketing materials, including brochures, renewals, and other printed materials
  • Work collaboratively with University Advancement Event Staff and Intercollegiate Athletics for successful planning and execution of all events
  • Collaborate with various intercollegiate athletics staff members daily
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 1-3 years or professional experience (internships included)
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service, including strong organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Must be able to adhere to NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize a large volume of on-going tasks and projects; handles highly sensitive and confidential materials; requires a high degree of attention to detail, tact and discretion
  •  Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and email
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work well in a team-oriented, busy environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are extremely important
  • Willing to work night or weekend event

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Previous athletic development, ticketing, marketing, or budgeting experience
  • Athletic ticketing and/or donor database management (i.e. NeuLion, Paciolan, Banner, etc.)
  • Interested in a career in intercollegiate athletic development
