Job Responsibilities

Promotes consultative and collaborative relationships with and between the Dean of Nursing, Associate Deans of Health Careers and Sciences, Director of Health industry Solutions, Corporate College and external partners

Ensures the college’s position in the community as a leader in the education and training of health care workers through the development of new programs that represent the latest and future health career needs

Through continuous assessment and in response to the health care needs of the community and the development of innovative health care solutions, leads and coordinates the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at recruiting students, and ensuring student success in health care programs

Consults with Campus Presidents and Vice President of Learning & Engagement in the coordination of credit and non-credit health care programs

Leads the Health Care Leadership Team

Oversees the negotiation and implementation of clinical affiliation agreements

Reviews accreditation reports and consults with Associate Deans regarding health care program accreditation

Consults with campuses on building and renovating for health care program facilities

Represents the College in the community with organizations that deal with health care delivery

Creates partnerships with external organizations to identify and secure funding opportunities

Leads outreach efforts to health care organizations to identify potential program development and/or expansion

Identifies potential funding sources and coordinates health care education grant proposal writing

Oversees grant funded health care initiatives

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Health Care Administration, or a related field and/or a minimum of five years of demonstrated healthcare administration experience in a leadership role

Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others

Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of healthcare administration theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail

Ability to be creative and exercise initiative

Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills

Works accurately with great attention to detail

Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines

Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes

Proven leadership skills and ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively

Demonstrated intermediate Project Management skills

Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
