This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Admissions and is a member of the high school recruitment team. The Campus Visit Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating daily campus visits as well as group visits and other special recruitment related events hosted on campus. The position also provides leadership, training and innovation to the work of Admissions as it relates to daily campus visits, group visits and other special events hosted on campus. The position is also responsible for counseling prospective students and their families on admissions requirements, the pre-enrollment process, including financial aid and scholarships, as well as managing a Colorado-based recruitment territory, application file review, managing a student based phone calling program, and following up daily with students via phone and email.
35% – Collaborate with the Senior Admissions Counselor and the rest of the recruitment leadership team to ensure that campus events and programs meet strategic recruitment and outreach goals. Coordinate daily visit and group visit programs which include an Admissions presentation conducted by an Admissions Counselor and a campus tour conducted by a student ambassador. Assist in planning and coordinating the high school counselor visit day, prospective student visit days, admitted student days, and other on-campus recruitment related events and activities.
25%- Counsel prospective applicants and their families as they seek to learn about MSU Denver. Respond to in-person, phone and email admissions inquiries. Conduct on-campus information sessions that includes group presentations and one-on-one counseling of prospective students and guests.
20% – Manage a Colorado recruitment territory, engaging in recruitment travel representing MSU Denver at college fairs and high schools and other college admissions planning events. Assist with outreach and recruitment programs including off-campus information sessions and admitted student receptions.
10% – Supervise a student based phone program which calls prospective students to assist in moving them through the admissions and enrollment process. Calls may be to no decision students, recently admitted students, students who have just visited campus or students the Admissions Office would like to invite to on and off campus events, etc.
5% – Serve as a member of the Admissions Application Review Committee, which is responsible for rendering admissions decisions on domestic undergraduate applications to the University.
5% – Other duties as assigned.
•A bachelor’s degree
•Two years of demonstrated leadership and/or professional experience working with high school or college students
•Two years of customer service experience
•Campus visit programming experience or event planning experience (experience as an undergraduate student will be considered).
•Demonstrated experience giving presentations in a professional setting
•Demonstrated experience working with a wide variety of internal and external constituents which may include co-workers, campus representatives, parents, school officials, and high school and transfer students-who possibly identify as low-income, first generation, and/or racially/ethnically diverse.
•Demonstrated experience with a Student Information system.
•Due to frequent travel for recruitment activities, must have valid driver’s license.
•A master’s degree in Higher Education or related field
•Previous admissions or college counseling experience (experience as an undergraduate student will be considered).
•Demonstrated experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM)system
•Ability to work collaboratively and independently
•Previous financial aid or scholarship selection experience
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Strong public speaking ability
•Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
•Experience with Banner
•Experience with Recruiter CRM system
