Under the direction of the Art and Visual communications the Technical Assistant will manage ceramic, sculpture and 3D studio. Maintains and repairs equipment in the studio. Cleans and organizes the studio. Reconciles and tracks inventory. Assists students working in ceramic, sculpture, and 3D studios.
High school diploma or GED plus six months to one year of related experience is required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a four-year degree in ceramics/sculpture or a related field OR any combination of education and experience total 4 years.
Knowledge of clays and glazes, kilns and other ceramic and sculpture equipment.
Skill in loading/unloading and firing a kiln.
Skill in organizational and record keeping.
Ability to lift objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
