Job Responsibilities

• Works with faculty to maintain American Bar Association (ABA) accreditation

• Schedules and convenes Advisory Committee meetings

• Represents the College in a positive manner by serving on committees and speaking on program topics

• Serves as part of the Business, Math and Technology management team

• Actively recruits students throughout the community through participation in college fairs, community events, and individual visits

• Schedules program-related special events

• Seeks out student practicum opportunities

• Recommends course schedules and the assignment of faculty

• Works with faculty on curricular matters, including modifications to courses, certificates, and programs

• Assists in college-required curriculum & completion processes (e.g., CLOA submissions)

• Reviews and maintains student program applications

• Maintains student records as part of student retention protocol

• Creates and maintains a variety of databases and spreadsheets

• Manages the program budget; orders textbooks and supplies

• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies (from an ABA-approved program) or a related field and/or a minimum of three years of demonstrated paralegal experience or experience in an ABA-approved paralegal program

• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

• Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget

• Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department


• Possesses working knowledge of paralegal concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

• Ability to research and identify potential federal and private funding opportunities

• Possesses strong commitment to providing excellent customer service

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork

• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships, create opportunities and solve problems

• Possesses strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

• Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Works accurately with great attention to detail

• Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

• Demonstrated intermediate project management skills

• Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Preferred Qualifications


• J.D., or Master’s degree in a related field

• Demonstrated experience working in a higher education environment

• Demonstrated experience with Banner software

• Demonstrated executive experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others


• Demonstrated ability to recruit students, market a service-based entity, and promote student success

Work Schedule

Normal College work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be available to work various weekend and evenings in order to participate in various events.
