American International College is seeking applicants for the position of Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ACADEMICS – Create and maintain an effective environment for academic success. In coordination with the Academic Resource Center, monitor academic progress throughout the year to insure academic success, retention and graduation.
BUDGET AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT – Plans and utilizes operating, financial aid and salary budget according to department procedures and NCAA regulations. Monitors budget and expenses and ensures timely turnaround of team credit cards and expense reimbursements. Keeps program within expense budget parameters.
STUDENT-ATHLETE MANAGEMENT – Treats student-athletes professionally, respectfully, and courteously. Emphasize values of competitive athletics, acceptable personal behavior, decision-making and lasting values to each individual. Always serves as an exemplary professional.
LEADERSHIP – Communicates skillfully with colleagues, subordinates and student-athletes. Maintains self-control and sets an example for sportsmanlike conduct in his/her relationship with team, officials, administration and opponents in victory or defeat. Provides clear direction of responsibility and authority. Attends and contributes to department meetings and functions.
COACHING PERFORMANCE – Demonstrates competence and knowledge of sport. Exhibits solid organization, flexibility and plans creative and valuable practices. Keeps informed of modern trends, techniques and strategies. Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates practice sessions and related activities with proper attention to players and their physical well-being.
RECRUITING – Works collaboratively with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to effectively recruit new student-athletes that have the ability to achieve success academically and athletically. Abides by all recruiting rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA.
ROSTER GOALS- Maintain sport specific roster goals as determined by the Director of Athletics.
FUNDRAISING – Successfully implements a fundraising plan that achieves annual fundraising goals set by administration. Works with Athletic Director/Department to support all fund-raising efforts.
COMMUNITY/PUBLIC RELATIONS – Actively supports student-athlete participation in Community outreach programs. Develops and maintains positive relationship with interested segment of the community.
NCAA RULES/COMPLIANCE – Adheres to NE-10/Atlantic Hockey/Rugby and NCAA rules. Attends all internal compliance meetings, adheres to departmental policies, and completes paperwork and reports on time. Successfully passes the NCAA rules exams.
EQUIPMENT ROOM – Works with the equipment room staff to assist in the collection, purchasing and accounting of all equipment.
ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM – Provides athletic training room with accurate practice and competition schedules, in advance, so they can prepare accordingly. Starts and concludes practices at scheduled times. Adheres to athletic training room policy of 24-hour notice regarding the changing of practice times.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES – Perform additional responsibilities (as assigned by the Director of Athletics) in a thorough, professional manner.

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Required Training/Certification, the individual will be able to pass NCAA recruiting exam within 90 days of employment.
• Preferred candidates will have previous collegiate soccer coaching, playing and recruiting experience.
• Must have a strong commitment to the academic success of the student-athlete
• Understanding of NCAA Division II rules and regulations
• Exceptional leadership and strong organizational and communication skills
• A valid, insurable driver’s license is required, with ability to travel
