Detailed Job Description

Under direct supervision the Therapist II diagnoses learning, intellectual, psychological and social disorders for enrolled and admitted students at Utah Valley University.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master of Social Work, Psychology, Community Mental Health, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy or related field with at least one year of experience. Maintain or progress toward Utah State Licensure requirements; including passing the Utah Licensing exams as outlined by DOPL.


Knowledge of individual, group and crisis intervention counseling techniques.
Knowledge or treatment plan development and implementation.
Knowledge of and participation in consulting techniques, public speaking, teaching, presentations, etc.
Knowledge of community mental health resources.
Knowledge of psycho diagnostic and psychiatric diagnosis based on the DSM-V TM.
Basic knowledge of psychopharmacology.


Skilled in and secures knowledge about psychological theories, diagnosis and treatment.


Ability to recommend voluntary and/or involuntary commitment for clients for hospitalization for psychological treatments.

Pay Range

$41,804 - $55,739
