Detailed Job Description

The Productivity Engineer serves as a consultant to manufacturing and other industries in the State of Alabama and surrounding states to provide them with business, technical and training/coaching assistance as part of the University's business college's outreach program. Plans, designs, implements, and manages complex business and/or technical projects for manufacturing and other industries.

Additional Department Summary:

Support Alabama Productivity Center's student internship program and professional service activities. This includes developing, planning, marketing and managing complex business and industry projects for manufacturing and other industries around the state of Alabama and beyond.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, management science, a basic science, statistics, operations management, industrial engineering or related field and at least five years of relevant, professional-level work experience in a manufacturing environment OR master's degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience OR a doctorate in a related field.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to develop, implement, and manage complex projects.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, professional staff, student and client personnel. Reasonable level of computer skills beyond normal word processing and spreadsheets. Working knowledge of software notably word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software tools.Experience in delivering consulting services to industry clients, in particular manufacturing industry. Knowledge and experience desired include one or more of the following: environmental, health and safety skills, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement or human resources. 60 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 49878.36 Midpoint - $ 72321.60
