Detailed Job Description

Under general supervision the Editor/Writer writes, edits, and formats for diverse audiences, as well as, a variety of markets and public relations purposes including campaign materials, collateral, brochures, press/news releases, video scripts, web pages and editorial magazines. This position edits written copy for accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, punctuation, style and other considerations; contribute to strategic discussions promoting brand and image

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus two years of related editorial experience OR a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, English or related field.


Strong knowledge of best practices and nuances in writing for various audiences and platforms.

Knowledge of publication production process.

Knowledge of higher education dynamic a plus.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Versatile writer with proficiency in writing for various audiences and platforms.

Excellent copy editing skills.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Excellent rapport building skills

Excellent organization and time management skills.


Ability to think strategically about the use of written communication to facilitate a broader integrated marketing and public relations plans.

Ability to manage all aspect of copy-editing process to ensure production of sterling written communication.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with key constituents.

Pay Range

$34,656 - $46,207
