Assist Director with the development, administration and support of employment/recruitment and compensation.
Analyze job descriptions to determine appropriate FLSA status, classifications and salary levels. Conducts job audits and determines appropriate placement within the classification system.
Respond to salary surveys.
Review market data and develop and conduct customized surveys, market studies and salary structure changes. Use standard statistical calculations to develop and cost proposals.
Consult with hiring departments regarding the development of job descriptions, hiring criteria, and the development of interview strategies based on the responsibilities. Ensure that University hiring policies and procedures are being followed. May assist in conducting interviews, performing reference checks and other aspects of the hiring process/onboarding process.
Review applicant qualifications, hiring decisions and salary offers to ensure that university policies and procedures are followed. Ensure that new positions and changes to positions are coded properly in position control. Assist OEEO with audit of position control records.
Respond to inquiries regarding employment and compensation policies and procedures, as well as related state and federal laws.
Assist with annual increase process and longevity bonuses to include preparing files for upload into the HRIS - Banner.
Develop and conduct workshops and training seminars for the University community regarding HR services, programs, procedures and guidelines.
Ensure accuracy of position and posting data processing in position management applicant tracking system. Ensure accuracy of employee data into applicant tracking and HRIS system. Collaborate, identify and recommend advertising strategies with internal departmental customers. Problem solve and trouble shoot issues related to system use, functionality, and organizational procedures.
Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to communicate HR policies, procedures and programs.
Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or closely related field. At least one year experience in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of related state and federal laws. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with tact.
PHR, SPHR or CCP certification. Experience in HR setting in a university or public employment setting.
