Under the direction of the Department Chair of English & Literature, the faculty member teaches four courses per semester related to the English & Literature concentration and other courses as deemed appropriate. Provides service to the college and community, and upholds professional and ethical standards.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
An earned master’s or doctoral degree in English or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of three years of successful teaching of English at the college/university level.
Knowledge of subject matter and course content of composition courses
Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to manage, motivate and evaluate students.
