To assist the head coach in the administration and operation of the basketball program.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
1.Create video scouting report tapes.
2.Copy all exchange tapes for archive purposes.
3.Capture all exchange tapes for opponent scouting purposes.
4.Create video reports for opponent scouting purposes
5.Create video cut-ups for opponent scouting purposes
6.Create video reports for self scouting purposes
7.Create video cut-ups for self scouting purposes
8.Assist the recruiting coordinator and recruiting administrative assistant in the construction of a
video recruiting library for the use of the basketball coaches.
The main focus would be the organization of the material so that may best be distributed and viewed by all of the coaches.
II.Team Travel Home & Away Games
A.Equipment and Audio Visual:
1.Pack and check all video equipment needed at the hotel.
2.Pack and check all coaches' tapes and highlight tapes.
3.Pack and check all exchange tapes.
B.Hotel and Stadium responsibilities:
1.Assist in team check-in at hotel.
2.Set-up meeting rooms with audio video equipment.
3.Make exchange of opponent exchange tapes.
4.Break down game cameras.
5.Secure Play by Plays, flip cards, and program for film exchange.
6.Assist in distributing post-game meals.
1. Assist in the production of banquet highlight video.
1.Assist in setting up audio visual and social needs.
1.Assist in providing audio visual requirements, video taping, and assist in camp set-up and break down.
A Bachelor's Degree (by hire date) from a four year accredited school.
Be familiar with the day-to-day operations of a major basketball program.
Have a strong computer back ground with experience in using database, word processor, design, and other programs used on a daily basis in the basketball office.
Understand and have experience in the video editing and computer analysis systems.
Have a firm understanding of NCAA rules.
Solid communication skills.
Have experience in working with coaches and be sensitive to their needs.
Strong background in the preparation of the athletic recruiting weekends.
Strong organizational skills.
Must be available to work long and odd hours including 12-16 hour days if necessary.
Must be available to travel.
Should be able to move objects such as: chairs, tables, and office equipment.
Must be able to work months without a day off.
Must be able to work weekends.
(Work experience gained during undergraduate and/or graduate school and/or internships may be counted towards these requirements.)
