The Lighting and Sound Design Lecturer will educate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives in the Theatre Arts programs at the undergraduate level.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a MFA degree in Lighting Design required.
Lighting Design, Projection design, Design software usage, lighting and sound equipment usage
Design lighting for UVU Theatre Department productions when appropriate for instruction or deemed necessary.
Advise and/or design and consult as needed with the School of the Arts on events and departmental productions. Advise and/or design and/or liaison with production projection designs. Supervise, coordinate and mentor sound design for department productions. Advise the Theatre Department on the purchase, upgrading and maintenance of lighting equipment.
Teach theatre courses related to lighting and sound design.
Sound design and maintenance. Pedagogy and classroom management.
