Detailed Job Description

The Faculty Development Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Assessment and Faculty Development, and is responsible for the coordination, data collection, and tracking of all faculty development programs in the school of medicine. Faculty development programs help educators develop and hone their skills in teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, assessment, leadership, scholarship, collaboration, and career advancement.

Job Duties

Implement and facilitate all faculty development activities, including program planning, correspondence, advertisement, catering and space arrangements, guest lists, handouts, CME applications, travel for outside speakers and day-of operations.

Collaborate with administration, faculty, and external partners to plan and implement faculty development programming for the school of medicine and its clinical partners.

Collaborate with administration and staff in other graduate and undergraduate schools at Quinnipiac to plan and implement interprofessional faculty development initiatives that include the school of medicine.

Organize meetings related to faculty development programming.

Assist the Associate Dean for Assessment and Faculty Development in managing the faculty development budget.

Maintain projected and final program budgets with attention to cost savings, and follow up on all invoice/payment requests.

Prepare post program summaries analyzing costs, attendance, successes, and areas for improvement and submit needed material to CME when applicable.

Track compliance of faculty, residents, and students with required online faculty development programs.

Independently communicate with faculty, residents, and staff about the basic content of faculty development programs.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

2 years experience in program management and event planning

Preference will be given to those with experience working in an academic higher education program

Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Strong oral and written communication skills

Track record of strong organizational skills including management of timelines, events and budgets.
