Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing and Promotions, creates and implements a comprehensive marketing and promotional plan. Assists with managing, coordinating and coaching interns and work study students interested in sports marketing. Assists with the implementation of a community outreach program focused on increasing attention and attendance for all university sports.
High school diploma or GED plus six months to one year of related experience is required.
A year of previous athletics sales and/or marketing experience is preferred.
Knowledge of general marketing practices.
Skill in developing fund-raising, advertising and marketing promotions.
Skill in computers and computer software applications.
Ability to manage program budgets as assigned.
Ability to help supervise and train staff employees in the athletic marketing group.
Ability to work with people in public relations settings.
Ability to plan, organize and problem solve.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group and individuals.
Ability to direct and supervise assigned sports programs.
