Under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor and working directly with RCA students and instructors, supports faculty, staff, and department operations by procuring, maintaining, delivering, fabricating, and assembling equipment, props, tools, facility needs, and supplies necessary for the continuation and progression of Emergency Services programs.
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to three years. Technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and experience totaling three years. Preference to RCA graduates knowledge and background. Must have certifications required to perform various duties, including but not exclusive to forklift operations, maintenance of SCBAs, and PPEs, etc.
-Knowledge of apparatus equipment maintenance.
-Knowledge of mechanical operations, standard repair procedures and techniques, and hydraulic systems. -Knowledge and/or background of -Recruit Candidate Academy (RCA).
-Basic welding, fabric and wood frame construction knowledge.
Skill in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and assignments.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to be able to perform the job.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, non-verbally, and in writing.
Ability to operate wire, arc, and oxyacetylene welders and associated tools and materials used in fabrication.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
Ability to to perform basic welding and fabrication.
