Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: perform institutional research and analysis, including data collection activities in academic and administrative areas; plan, prepare, and produce a variety of regular and ad hoc queries, reports, and publications to meet external regulations and internal needs; assist in the submission of information to the Ohio Board of Regents each term to determine funding and other pertinent information for the College; also, act as liaison between the College and the Ohio Board of Regents and HEI. Assist in the development and maintenance of the Fact book, user guides and documentation; expand capabilities of the College in the area of business intelligence and business analytics by interacting with deans, department chairs, faculty and staff to develop business intelligence models and solve problems; participate in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to keep informed of current ideas, research, and practices related to the responsibilities of the position; assist in the compilation of information on the environmental factors affecting the College by such means as survey research and the extraction of data from administrative systems; and provide assistance and support in the identification, methods of statistical analysis and reporting of benchmark data in support of strategic planning and institutional effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred. Required Experience: five years professional experience in institutional research and assessment in increasingly responsible positions and assignments; background in producing reports and documentation to support decision-making; professional experience with databases and data warehouses, structured queries and data retrieval, and the use of data to support strategic planning and operational management; experience with ERP systems, preferably in higher education (e.g. Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.); knowledge and experience in data warehouse, design and implementation; knowledge and experience working with business intelligence and analytics tools, key performance indicators, and dashboard indicators; proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS,SPSS, Microsoft Access and Excel); excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team as well as possessing a strong service orientation; and a background in academic assessment.
Preferred Experience:five or more years institutional research experience in a higher education environment; familiarity with higher education outcomes assessment; experience with advanced data retrieval and analysis tools, particularly to support graphical display and user-driven data retrieval systems; and experience with on-line analytical processing (OLAP).
