A licensed nurse who is certified in CPR/First Aid/AED and who as a result of specialized educational and clinical experience possesses knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to young adult aged clients in a university setting.
Accessing student’s health status Implementing patient care Responding to medical emergencies Gathering vital health information Assisting with student health initiatives, education of illness care and prevention, OTC and RX distribution per protocol.
Nursing license from the State of Florida. Strong interpersonal skills; Advanced written documentation communication skills; Medical/legal knowledge, terminology and experience Computer skills, including word processing, database building, spreadsheets, graphics, merges, Internet and electronic mail software. Vital signs, maintaining patient records. Assist in special procedures under supervision of doctor. Possess organizational skills to maintain inventory Demonstrate clinical competence of adult clients and in depth knowledge of adolescent/young adult health nursing.
Nursing Program and current State of Florida license required.
Two (2) years in a school clinical environment preferred or in a health center assisting young adults.
BSN from a four year accredited degree granting institution.
Previous experience with cost containment and budgetary management, chart review and medical billing preparation. Education and training of new staff. Able to provide students with educational programing.
