The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the medical records department.

Additional Department Summary:

The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security of medical records. This position supervises the Medical Records staff and is responsible for ensuring the Student Health Center meets the required standards to be a successful medical records operation.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in a related field; OR High school diploma and a minimum of two years of experience in medical records. RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or other certification in the area of health information or records is required.

Skills and Knowledge:

Must apply considerable decision making and independent judgement in daily activities. Must be able to work well with other departments, time management, attention to detail, quality focus, professionalism, productivity, documentation skills, written communication, data entry management

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of experience in a medical records office is preferred. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 28537.56 Midpoint - $ 39956.76
