As assigned by the Department Chair teaches courses related to business management. Acts as Lead Faculty as assigned by the Department Chair in coordinating, training, visiting, and communicating with adjunct instructors (whether organized by the department or by Concurrent Enrollment). Assists the Department Chair and faculty in developing pedagogy for and structure of business programs according to AACSB standards. Serves on various department and university committees as assigned. Maintains AACSB professional category qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a field of study directly related to the summary of duties plus professional experience related to the program or discipline. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Masters degree plus 2 years of business experience required.
Experience as responsible instructor in college classroom settings required.
Masters degree in business administration plus 5-7+ years of business experience in managerial positions is preferred.
This position is intended to be a full-time, program-building position with time and energy commitments equal to those expected from a tenure-track assistant professor.
Knowledge of the theories and principles of business management and value-adding processes of firms operating in competitive environments.
Knowledge of the financial, marketing, and production principles used in creating value for customers.
Skilled in controlling the classroom environment, engaging students in an organized way that invites learning the details and processes of business management.
Skilled in relating to students in a way that engages them with the material being taught.
Skilled in projecting a love of learning and enthusiasm for the dynamic field of business management.
Ability to organize and structure sequences of learning events and concepts so that students perceive, build, and accomplish class objectives.
Ability to lead class discussions, debrief cases and outside speakers’ discussions, explain principles, and review pedagogical and student performance issues.
