Detailed Job Description

Provides professional accounting services for UVU’s Dining Services requiring an experienced, professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Monitors revenues and expenses for the auxiliary under the direction of the Associate Vice President – Finance/GRAMA. Responsible for preparing financial statements, budget reports and other reports to aid in planning and decision making. Establishes and reconciles budgets; manages business and financial affairs. Evaluates journal entries and reconciles assigned indexes. Assist with year-end closing and inventory counts to ensure adjustments and accruals are properly recorded. Reviews transactions for accuracy, correct funding and proper approvals. Advises the Director of Dining Services and Associate Vice President of Finance/GRAMA regarding financial matters. Train and monitor divisional compliance with University policies and procedures and funding requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field plus two years of related experience OR a relevant combination of education and work experience totaling six years.


Generally accepted accounting and auditing principles, computerized
accounting reports, standards and procedures.

Accounting and fiscal systems, policies, procedures and practices.


Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Self motivational skills to accomplish daily work.


Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

Perform technical accounting work involved in the preparation financial and statistical

Ability to analyze, recommend and implement improved processes and procedures.

Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines.

Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Pay Range

$39,889 to $53,186
