The School of Nursing serves a growing population of more than 850 graduate and undergraduate students. We invite applications for 9.5 month Faculty appointment position, beginning August 2015.Successful candidates will exhibit a passion for teaching and have a strong clinical background with current or recent experience. Expertise in obstetrics/women’s health, behavioral health, pediatrics or community health nursing are highly desirable. APRN certification or military service are also desirable, but not required.
In the newly constructed Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, we work with faculty colleagues to create interprofessional learning experiences that better prepare students for today's healthcare challenges. As one of only a few schools in the nation to be holistically endorsed, we emphasize the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of care, as well as the physical. The School of Nursing offers traditional, accelerated, and RN-to-BSN programs at the baccalaureate level. At the graduate level, our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs prepare baccalaureate graduates to be nurse anesthetists or nurse practitioners specializing in adult-gerontology or families. Post-master’s online options are specifically designed for advanced practice nurses and executive nurse leaders.
We are located on Quinnipiac University’s North Haven Campus in the 500,000 sq. ft. Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, alongside the Center for Law and the School of Education. Shared facilities include numerous specialty laboratories, 7 simulation suites including 2 ORs and a post anesthesia recovery area, 4 physical exam suites, a 'high tech' accessible apartment, diagnostic imaging equipment, a health sciences library, 24 standardized patient rooms, a 48-station anatomy dissection laboratory, and a variety of high-tech multifunction class and seminar rooms to accommodate small to large class sizes.
