Detailed Job Description

The Department of Occupational Therapy at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a full-time (12 month) clinical-track faculty position of Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the combined Bachelor of Health Science/Master of Occupational Therapy program. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator reports directly to the Department Chair and is mainly responsible for the program’s compliance with fieldwork requirements as stated in the ACOTE Standards C.1.0.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • the management, implementation, and evaluation of all fieldwork-related aspects of the occupational therapy curriculum
  • collaboration and communication with fieldwork educators to monitor the fieldwork performance of all occupational therapy students
  • collaboration and communication with academic faculty and administration to ensure compliance with accreditation standards
  • management of contracts with fieldwork sites
  • coaching and mentoring of students and fieldwork educators prior to and during fieldwork

In addition, the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator may have teaching, advising and service requirements.

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

Candidates are required to have:

  • an active license as an occupational therapist or eligibility for licensure in the State of Connecticut
  • current NBCOT certification
  • five years of clinical experience
  • 3 or more years of academic or clinical teaching experience
  • demonstrated proficiency with electronic documentation and communication
  • post-professional doctorate degree in occupational therapy or related field or is within 1 year of completion of the post-professional degree

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in program development or outcomes management/quality improvement and leadership at the local/community, state/regional or national professional organizations.
