Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks involving some discretion and requiring moderate amounts of independent judgment related to the oversight of the daily operations to support the Senior Director of External Relations and Communications and Director of Technology within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC).
Serves as a first point of contact for these two offices, answering phone calls and greeting visitors. Works closely with faculty, staff, and students.
Maintain calendar for the Senior Director of External Relations and Communications, including scheduling appointments and making travel arrangements.
Provide support in both areas for purchasing (Buyway), travel and expense reports and reimbursement, monthly reconciliation of department credit card transactions and inventory tracking of capital equipment.
Assist with maintaining content on divisional website. Assists with hosting meetings with both internal and external visitors to the division.
Other duties as assigned.
Nine months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and expertise.
Strong organizational and administrative skills. Complexity of some tasks requires discretion and independent judgment.
Knowledge of computer and office applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation graphics.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact in a diverse, team-oriented work environment.
Able to multi-task.
Strong candidate will have:
Working experience in higher education or similar setting.
Working knowledge of Miami University and familiarity with Miami’s policy and procedures, including Buyway, travel and expense reporting, Kronos and credit card reconciliation.
Working knowledge of Cascade and web design.
