THE DEPARTMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATION AND FILM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track assistant professor position to begin 16 August 2015. This position is a 3-year contract position, renewable at the discretion of the University, based on performance, need, and available funding.
The successful candidate will have at least three years experience teaching college courses in electronic news, at the undergraduate level, as well as have the qualifications for teaching graduate courses for the department in areas of research or expertise. Qualifications for the position include a completed PhD, by the starting date. The preferred candidate will have an excellent academic record, teaching experience in the field, and a successful record of teaching electronic news. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Faculty members also have opportunities for summer employment. Undergraduate academic advising, departmental committee assignments, and professionally-related service are expected. Evidence of strong teaching is required along with strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills.
