THE DEPARTMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATION AND FILM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track assistant professor position to begin 16 August 2015. This position is a 3-year contract position, renewable at the discretion of the University, based on performance, need, and available funding.
The successful candidate will have at least three years experience teaching college courses in media production, at the undergraduate level, as well as have the qualifications for teaching graduate courses in the department in areas of research or expertise. Minimum qualifications for the position include a completed MFA in film/video or a related field by 16 August 2015. The preferred candidate will have an excellent academic record, teaching experience in the field, and a successful record of teaching media production. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
Faculty members also have opportunities for summer employment. Undergraduate academic advising, departmental committee assignments, and professionally-related service are expected. Evidence of strong teaching is required along with strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills.
