Detailed Job Description

The Contract Administrator is responsible for preparing, examining, analyzing, negotiating, and revising contracts on behalf of the University. This includes coordinating with the contracting department, Office of General Counsel, purchasing personnel, and other campus departments. The Contract Administrator is responsible for managing all phases of the contract cycle.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and two years’ experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling six years.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and five plus years of contract management and/or legal experience.

Experience managing a contract management process for a large entity, preferably a public entity.

Knowledge

Working-to-excellent knowledge of public policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies.

Working-to-expert knowledge of contracting concepts, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and other applicable laws.

Skills

Strong-to-excellent analytical and communication skills.

Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills.

Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.

Abilities

Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments.

Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.

Pay Range

43,811 - 51,112
